Job Description

We are looking for a Backend Lead to join our team at Webcode. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Creating and updating REST APIs, ensuring they are ultra-performant, security-hardened, and extremely well documented.
  • Building systems with design patterns and reusability in mind.
  • Handling authentication, CRUD operations against backend resources, and integration with third-party services and systems.
  • Working with both monolith and (serverless) microservice architectures.
  • Collaborating with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
  • Writing and maintaining clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to team members.
  • Ensuring the scalability and reliability of backend systems.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in backend development.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Laravel and PHP.
  • Experience with Node.js, AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, MySQL, and AWS API Gateway.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design and best practices.
  • Knowledge of authentication mechanisms and security best practices.
  • Experience with both monolithic and microservice architectures.
  • Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

If you do not have experience as a Backend Lead yet, you must be a computer science graduate with a focus on cloud, networking, and security.

All successfully screened candidates will be asked to complete a technical test with those who successfully pass being invited for interview.
